Obituary for Peter Joseph Prieur
The family announces with great sorrow the passing of our dear Dad, Peter Prieur, on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the age of 85 with his loving family by his side, following months of suffering with congestive heart failure. Predeceased by his loving wives, Jeannette (Lavoie) in 1997 and Vyna Desgrosseilliers in 2019. Cherished father of Billy (Leslie), Joyce (Ted Rienguette), Carmen (Ted Brugess), Rita (Lorne Pettifer) and Denise (Mark Rienguette). Loving step-dad to Dan (Nicole Desgrosseilliers), Bob (Sally Hitchcock), John (Arlene Nicol), Andre, Nicole (Gilles Leduc) and Jo-Anne (Shawn Ross). He will be sadly missed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dad was the youngest in his family and was predeceased by all of his 7 brothers Alphonse, Art, Albert, Edgar, Gene, Fred and Willy and his 3 sisters Marie Bedard, Libby Laurin and Bea Faughnan.
Dad was an amazing, kind, loving, gentle soul. He was known for his terrific sense of humour and his happy, easy going personality. Always had a good story to tell from recent and long-ago times. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He worked hard all his life, and was rewarded by a long, healthy retirement. He will truly be missed!
A private funeral service will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021.
