Lucia Portelance (née D’Orazio) left this earthly realm with dignity and grace on February 28th, 2021, after her decade-long battle with Posterior Cortical Atrophy. She was 60 years old. It would be wrong to say that Lucy lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. When others would have broken, Lucy’s loving spirit endured. Through her we understand the true face of tenacity, resilience and perseverance. Her insidious disease could never overcome her grace, love and devotion to her family. Daughter of Giovanni and Anna D’Orazio (deceased) Lucy is forever loved by her husband Michael and their sons Daniel, Mitchell, and Neil, daughter-in-law Daniela, grandchildren Sebastian and Juliette, sister Lidia, brothers Eugene (Lynn), Nick and Danny (deceased), relatives and friends.
A private family funeral service will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, at 11:30am.
