Obituary for Brian Yeomans
The family wishes to announce the passing of Brian Edward Yeomans at Extendicare-York, on February 21, 2021. He was 66 and persevered the past 2 1/2 years with cancer. Survived by daughter Chanza, son Jason, grandchildren Samantha and Nicholas; brother Eric (Deborah), uncle to Kirk and Keith (Christine), great uncle to Ally and Bryce. Survived by sister-in-law Lori and brother-in-law Peter (Linda) and daughter Megan. Predeceased by parents David and Betty Yeomans, partners Christine McOrmond and Kim Erskine. Survived and predeceased by many family relatives in the Sudbury, Toronto, and Chatham-Kent areas.. Sadly missed by his two life-long friends Charles Rastall and Graham Toppazzini.
Brian had a varied work history starting out as high school bag boy at the former Dominion store at Plaza 69, and after graduation took on a full-time position in many aspects at that store and moved on to the former Dominion store on Notre Dame Ave., and stayed on there after the corporate change to Food Basics and also worked at the Food Basics in Hanmer. Time for change in employment where he worked for several years as a delivery person for Maslack (Falconbridge Rd., location). Then another employment change came when be began working for Curbwalk Construction doing various construction applications that the company specified to perform which meant in town projects and out of town contracts to the far reaches of Northwestern Ontario and to the Eastern regions of Ontario. Unfortunately the Curbwalk Construction owner passed away a few years ago and the company was sold to Terra North Construction where Brian worked there until his retirement three 1/2 years ago.
In his spare during the construction off season he worked at the former Hobby Depot store and participated in town and out of town train shows. He was also a member of the Northern Ontario Railroaders Club (Capreol). Here he spent many hours as a member and volunteer at the Railway Museum, either in performing train layout maintenance or as a guide during special events. When the weather was bright and sunny outside he would be walking the Lake Ramsey boardwalk as much as possible. A few years ago started winter vacationing in either in Florida or Vardero, Cuba.
The family would like to thank the various doctors and their respected nurses for his long and short term care. Special thank you to Doctor: Holub, J. Noble (retired), Shehata, R. Singh (Palliative Management System Clinic). A very heartfelt thank you to the nurses and volunteers (pre-COVID) in the Chemo Suite at the Northeastern Cancer Clinic.
Also, like to thank the nurses and PSW’s at the Clarion Centre, a division of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care. And finally to the nurses and PSW’s Third Floor East, Extendicare-York.
At Brian’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation and internment will be in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northeastern Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Park Lawn Crematorium and Funeral Services.
