Reunited with his beloved wife, Mary (2018), on February 11th, 2021, at Health Sciences North, in his 93rd year. Loving father of Anthony (Jo-Anne) and Steve. Dido to Aislynn (Michael) Bell, Alexandra (Andrew) Lee and Jessica Novacic. Great-grandfather to Samantha. Survived by his sister, Maria Boric, and extended family in Canada and Croatia. Predeceased by his parents Antun and Lucija and brothers Ivan, Milan, Marko and Nikola. Born in Lika, Croatia, he immigrated to Canada in 1951. He worked at INCO for more than 30 years, at both the Coniston and Copper Cliff locations. Steve and Mary were both proud godparents of Sveti Marko Church in Sudbury. Steve was also a devout member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America, Lodge 793. Known in his neighborhood for his well-manicured lawn and hedge and love for the Toronto Maple Leafs, he will be fondly missed by many neighbors and friends. He will also be greatly missed by his friends at the YMCA where he was a member of the 5:00 a.m. group for many years. The family would like to particularly thank neighbors, Judy and Balfour, as well as Rakel, for their support over the last few years. Family and friends will be received at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Friday February 26th, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the R.J. Barnard Chapel. Private family interment at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. A long-term cancer survivor, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
