Obituary for Michel Belisle

It is with deep and profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Michel Louis Joseph Bélisle, 56 years on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the loving arms of his mother at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Beloved and cherished son of Jeannine and the late Donat Bélisle of Sudbury. Loving brother of Denise (husband Nelson Collin), Donald predeceased (wife Carole), Rheo predeceased, Lilianne (husband Michel Mayotte) and Jacques (wife Darlene). Special step-sister to Donna (husband Rob Moore). Loving uncle to nine nieces and nephews and seventeen great nieces and nephews. Michel was a very special little man, especially to his mother who devoted her entire being to making sure he was happy, safe and loved. Michel was the light of our life and we reflect on the gifts that he gave to us. He showed us what it is to be strong. Through his vulnerabilities he gave us the gift of insight and showed us things we might otherwise have missed. Michel gave us the gift of perspective. He reminded us that most of our problems are not really problems, and to be grateful for what we have. He taught us about kindness and patience and gave us the gift of beauty. He taught us how to love without words, without limits, without reasons. For the best gift he gave us, was his very life. May we never forget this beautiful gift. "A beautiful life that came to an end, will forever be cherished in the lives of his family and friends.” A very special thank you to the management and staff at Cedar residence where he lived for the past 10 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sudbury Developmental Services or the Children’s Treatment Centre at Health Sciences North.
