Obituary

Patricia Grace Ames (nee Morgan)
Passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2021 at Health Sciences North, in her 70th year.
She was a dedicated wife to Douglas, her husband and partner of 49 years, as well as mother to Vanessa (predeceased), Emily (Adam) and Nathan (Alicia). She especially treasured her role as Grandma to Lucy, Dylan and Ellie of the Hallway Runners Club. Devoted sister to John, as well as sister-in-law to Stewart (Judy), Barbara (Anne), Brian (Debbie) and Steven (Debbie). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was born in Tanganyika to Richard and Doris Morgan (predeceased) and by the age of four had already lived on three continents. This may have accounted for her love of travel and the pursuit of new experiences.
Her life-long love of books inspired her to study English Literature and earn an Honors BA from Laurentian University. This in turn led to her calling as a teacher in the International Baccalaureate program at LoEllen Park Secondary School. Her passion for literature will be greatly missed by all her book club friends, colleagues, and former students.
Her easy laugh and welcoming smile, as well as her enduring kindness to others gained her a loving group of friends of whose support and companionship she was profoundly grateful.
A celebration of her life will be held in the coming months once we are able to gather together once more. Expression of sympathy or donations can be made in memory of Patricia to the Northern Cancer Foundation (www.ncfsudbury.com/in-memoriam)
(Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home)

Miss' Ames coached my son's Improv team at LoEllen High School ,accompanied the team to various tournaments and had a profoundly positive impact on my son's social as well as academic development. His Improv team all contacted each other when they heard of 'Miss' Ames passing, a testament to the impact she had on their lives and who each of them have become. My husband and I want to express our deep condolences to all her family and give thanks for her life .She made a huge difference to many young people through her work and the person she was. A donation is being made in her name to the Cancer Society.

I was truly saddened to learn of Pat's death and I extend my sincerest condolences. We were colleagues at Lockerby Composite School and I sincerely appreciated her kind and soft-spoken nature. It is extremely difficult to envisage a life without a dearly loved member of the family.
Know that you are in my thoughts!

My heart goes out to Pat's family. She was a special teacher and colleague. Many happy memories of our teaching time at Lo-Ellen. As many have said it was the infectious smile and bubbly personality. She will always be remembered. RIP
