Obituary for Mafalda Mormile (Orsino)

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Mafalda (Orsino) Mormile on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 in her 97th year at Finlandia Village. Beloved wife of Peter (pre-deceased 2004). Loving and devoted mother of Vincent (Catherine). Cherished and extremely proud nonna of Aaron Peter (Shery) and bisnonna to Calvin. Dear Daughter of Peter and Teresa Orsino (both pre-deceased). Dear sister of Maria (Bernardo Mazzaro) (both pre-deceased) and Tony Orsini (pre-deceased), wife Anna Orsini. Special Zia of Lina (Frank) Armieri, Peter (Stephanie) Orsini, Susie (Michael Lynot), Giuseppina (Celeste) Marcuccio, and many nieces and nephews. We will forever be grateful for the love, kindness, and support to Mafalda from her niece, Lina Armieri.
A special thank you to the staff of Finlandia Village who cared for her over the last few years. Mafalda was born in Castel Campagnano, Italy on August 4th, 1924, and emigrated to Canada with her husband Peter in 1953. She was generous, very hardworking, and an amazing cook and baker. It gave her great pleasure to share her food with family, friends, and neighbours. No one left hungry or empty handed after a visit to Mafalda’s house. Due to COVID, there will be no funeral home visitation, but instead a prayer service can be watched online by live stream at https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=160945156392986
