Obituary for Renzo De Luca

Renzo De Luca (June 29, 1933 – December 29, 2020)
Renzo was born in Sesto al Reghena in the province of Friuli Italy to Ida and Adamo DeLuca. He was the loving brother of Luigi (Maria), both predeceased, Rino, predeceased, Elsa (Fabio), both predeceased, Ermano (Luigia) and AnnaMaria (Sergio, predeceased).
He came to Canada in 1953, worked a few years in Toronto and then settled in Sudbury. He returned to his homeland for a visit and met his wife, Albertina Del Lepre. They married in 1961 and raised two daughters, Vivian (Rob Belcourt) and Giuseppina “Josie” (Michael Smal, predeceased) in Sudbury. Renzo took great pride in his art of masonry. He has left a legacy of landmarks in Sudbury which he helped to build, including St. Patrick’s Parish, Cambrian College and Laurentian University. He was a proud Italian and Furlan. He was a life-time member of the Caruso Club. Renzo had a passion for hunting and fishing at the many beautiful lakes in our region. He was a gifted gardener and wine-maker. Renzo had a tireless work ethic and selflessly helped many friends and family. He was so proud to be “Nonno” to his grandchildren Justin and Natasha and later to his step-grandchildren Danielle, Carinna and Martin. He was looking forward to becoming a bis-nonno this coming spring. Many thanks to the care providers at Health Sciences North in the Stent Lab and the CMU for their diligence and sensitivity in treating our Dad during his last days.
