SPEARS, Thomas Arnold.
It is with sadness for our loss but great joy for Dad’s sake that the family announces that he was called home to his Lord on December 8, 2020 at the age of 93. Arnold was a faithful and loving husband to Joan (nee Tulloch) who passed ahead of him into glory in 2018 after 59 years of marriage.
He was a wise and loving father to John, Peter (Jean) and David (Jennifer), and a beloved Grandpa to Elsa in whom he delighted. Arnold’s wise counsel and gentle sense of humour will be missed by many dear friends as well as many nieces and nephews from both the Spears and Tulloch families. Arnold spent his life studying and living out the Word of God and he made the most of every opportunity to share the good news of the gospel with all he encountered. Arnold’s greatest hope was to glorify his Saviour in both his life and his death and in this he surely succeeded. Donations to the Larchwood Bible Chapel would be appreciated.

Sincere condolences to the family for the loss (Dave, Peter, John et al) from all of us here in the west coast. I have known Arnold since as long as I can remember being a close childhood friend of Dave growing up just down the street in Dowling, Ontario. Arnold was also our (Virginia, myself as well as all of my siblings) high school English teacher at CVDS and we heard him speaking often at the local church we attended at the time (Larchwood Bible Chapel)...his gentleness, wisdom, great depth in understanding of the Word and his ability to always take interest in anyone he was speaking to was both an example and a great blessing to all of us, even to officiating our wedding back in 1984. He will be sorely missed and left a great impression for all whom he had contact with. Blessings and peace to the whole family from all of us.

to all Uncle Arnold's family . I am sending big hugs and all our sympathy. He was a wonderful man and I will miss our yearly updates. My Dad [Clarence Spears] and your Dad where brothers. He kept true to the Spears record with living a good life into his 90's and even with his time of passing in December. May all your precious memories help you during this time.

Condolences to you the Spears family on the passing of your Dad and Grandpa. I always enjoyed your dad’s visit to the Ranch. He was a sweet supportive friend to our mom and dad and It touched my heart to see this gift of shared life-long friendship each time he blessed them with his arrival, sometimes alone and other times with the whole gang! It was a long trip from Sudbury and he was such a Faithful friend. I know it was a huge encouragement to my parents but also a great example to me. Karla Warnholtz Kamerman

For years while my husband, Clayton, was in hospitals and long term care Arnold visited him every week, starting with the ER, until his own health kept him away. He was a perfect visitor, always caring, loving, encouraging, and his visits were a great cheer to us both. A stroke had taken Clayton's speech, but they used to clasp hands and the love that flowed between them was most touching. I love to think of him now seeing the Lord Jesus, Who appreciated those visits as if they were done to Him.
