Obituary

Paravano, Antonio (Tony, Mino)
April 7th, 1933 Udine, Italy
November 22nd, 2020 York Extendicare Sudbury

There is no night without a dawning
No winter without a spring
And beyond the dark horizon
Our hearts will once more sing…
For those who leave us for a while
Have only gone away
Out of a restless, care worn world
Into a brighter day.

Rest in peace
Love Marilyn

Tony was both a friend and mentor, I can still hear his encouraging words softly in the gallery “Let him hunt Gerry, Let him hunt” as I handled my first open dog though the 3rd series to become Field Trial Champion.
Tony was a life member of the Sudbury and District Kennel Club and was the driving force of our Spaniel section for many years. Anyone who purchased a Spaniel and just wanted to train for hunting soon got roped in by Tony’s upbeat attitude as he always looked on the positive side and encouraged individuals to bring out the best in their dogs through training and field trial competition. Known as the Godfather of the club he took all of us under his wing and taught us how to bring out a Spaniels natural ability.
It was Tony’s determination and foresight to purchase our club property in order to insure we have a place to train that we could call our own.
When it came to competition Tony was one of the top competitors to deal with but always greeted competitors with a great smile and a cheerful conversation making them feel at home.

Tony was known across the continent for his humour, whit, and dog handling ability and will be sadly missed.
R.I.P. my friend.
I have placed this epilogue on a face book group and numerous friends have commented and reacted.
