BARBERIO, Rosaria Carmela (nee Ruffo)
In loving memory of Rosaria Barberio (nee Ruffo) at the age of 88 years. She passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 21st, 2020.
Beloved wife of Francesco for 65 years. Loving mother of Susan (Adriano Simonato), Mary (Joe Puntillo), Joe (Gina), Anita (David Ballantyne), Carmelo (Jennifer). Loving and adored grandmother of Tania (Jim Bartolucci), Christopher Simonato (Kassidy), James Puntillo (Danielle), Michael Puntillo (Owen), Jordan and Jesse Barberio, Isabel Rose and Charles Ballantyne, Brooklyn and Samson Barberio, and great-grandmother of Jacob and Max Bartolucci. Sadly missed by a large family and many friends.
Born in Aprigliano Italy, she came to Canada at the age of 19. She was a deeply spiritual and empathetic person who was known to make room at her table for anyone who visited. Her exceptional cooking was enjoyed by everyone. To her, family, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her world. She loved spending time with family and friends, and loved her cottage. She will be remembered as a loving, strong woman, who was full of life and boundless energy, a confidante to many, who put everyone ahead of herself, and remained grateful for everything God gave her.
Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. (Friends may call 2-5pm Sunday with parish prayers at 3pm Sunday). Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury, on Monday, October 26th, 2020 at 10:30am. Entombment in the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic directives, 50 people or fewer are permitted in the visitation room and at the church. Face masks are mandatory. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, or registering as an organ donor at beadonor.ca, would be appreciated.
