Obituary for Ada Volpini (Barbarini)

In Loving Memory of Ada Volpini (nee Barbarini)
It is said 'The mind forgets, but the heart will always remember. And what is the heart's memory but love itself?'

She lived her long life with purposeful reserve and quiet. In the early morning of October 18th, she slipped away in the very manner in which she lived. Her large family forever enriched by; and grateful to a beautiful and elegant lady known to them as mamma, nonna, nonni, Ada. Her love for them was endless, and as such, will continue to burn within all of their hearts.
Ada Volpini was born October 29th, 1923, in Pesaro Italy to Federico and Maria Barbarini and was the youngest sister to Giuseppina, Irma and Lina. Ada met and married our father Leonardo Adler Volpini in 1945. Together, and over the course of the first 19 years of their 70-year marriage, they grew their family. Left to honour and cherish the memories of their mamma are Marta Deni (Ferruccio); Leandro (Louisette), Patricia (Felix), Catia (Joe Williams), Mara (Peter Richards). Ada’s youngest daughter, Mara passed away in October of 2018. We are at peace in the belief mamma is once again reunited with Mara and our ‘babbo’. Ada’s love was abundant and warmly enveloped her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Nonna/nonni’s essence will live through Roberto Deni (wife Nancy; children Joseph, Tommaso, Olivia); Amanda Deni (Jason Houghton; son Jacob Greenough); Steven Volpini (wife: Christine; children Adria, Evan, Mateo); Mark Volpini (wife Melissa, son Noah); Katherine Wilson (husband Eric, children Maxim, Zoe, Simon); Stephanie Valentini (husband Matthew Pentney, children Luke, Callen, Christopher); Jeffrey (wife Natalie Ellis); Kyle Davidson (Angelica Diaz ); Samantha Davidson (Keegan Bradley) and Michael Arnason (Reem Khalil). She will be remembered by Casimir Bazzul, Samantha Bazzul, Cooper Richards (Lindsay), Jessica Richards, Matthew Williams (Kayla) and Rebecca McLean (John).
If our mother could, she would join us in thanking the wonderful workers and nursing staff in Gardenway at St. Joseph’s Villa. Her stay at the Villa to her final transition was handled with compassion, care and dignity. Ada’s family also wishes to acknowledge the many acts of kindness and special visits our mother received from Dorothy and Barry Burtnyk, true angels. Should you wish, and in lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Joseph’s Villa or the Sudbury Food Bank in Ada’s memory would be kindly appreciated. Following a private family visitation, Ada’s funeral service will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s church, 19 Mary Street, Sudbury, on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., followed by entombment at the Park Lawn Mausoleum. Due to the COVID-19 Directives, facemasks are mandatory at the church while following social distancing. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
