Obituary for Rita Florida Fitzgerald (Frappier)

Rita Florida Fitzgerald (nee Frappier), who lived at Finlandia Village, passed away on August 25th, 2020 in her 95th year. Daughter of Aime Frappier and Florida Frappier (Gratton) both predeceased. Wife of Ronald John Fitzgerald also predeceased. Loving mother of William John Fitzgerald of Hamilton, On (Partner Lisa Ciancone) and baby Sandra, predeceased. Sister to eight siblings: brothers John, Aime, Arthur, Marcel, Aurele, and sisters Marie, Bertha, Rosalinde (all predeceased). Born in Chelmsford, Ont. in 1925, she travelled and worked in Winnipeg, Montreal, and Hamilton, before eventually re-establishing back in Sudbury and was married in 1964. She worked mainly in Ladies Clothing and was always popular with her customers. She loved tending to her flowers and garden, baking pies, and playing cards. She was unwavering in her devotion to family, friends, and her French Catholic faith. She was known for a humble and friendly disposition, a tremendous resilience, and cheerful optimistic outlook on life.
Memorial Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at 1pm. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic directives, 80 people or fewer are permitted in the chapel. Facemasks are mandatory.
