Norman Eli Constantineau passed away on Thursday, October 8th, 2020 after a short illness but a lengthy fight with cancer. He was born on September 13th, 1937 to Lena (Cowles) and Arthur Constantineau. Norman was a loving husband to his wife, Pearl (Elsasser) of 53 years and father of Kari-Ann (Sean), Trevor (Elizabeth), and Christina. He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Ethel (Maurice predeceased), Julian (Marion) both predeceased, Clifford (Diane), Marlene (Richard), Linda (predeceased), Ralph (Vera), Arthur (Joan), and Anthony (Louise). He will be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews. Norman worked his first job working for his father at the West-Arm Sawmill. He worked as an Operator/Dispatcher for 36 years for CP Rail. In his retirement years, he was a Markstay-Warren Councillor for 1999-2000. He was an active member of the community and participated in various community groups and committees; Awrey Community Centre, Awrey Volunteer Fire Brigade, Markstay Golden Age Senior Citizens, Markstay Pinehill Cemetery Manager. He was a lifelong member of the Markstay Union Church. He was born and raised in Markstay, and enjoyed playing sports such as baseball, hockey, running, bowling, and darts. He loved to dance to Country and Western, and could do a mean polka. He loved to play Scrabble, Euchre, and many card games. He enjoyed a lengthy discussion about politics, sports, or current events.
