I had the privilege and honour of calling this special man both a colleague and a friend. He was regular visitor to my office when we worked at Cambrian College and it was during these times that I learned of his guitar playing and the notables with whom he jammed. The pride and love he felt for his family was without doubt and always evident. To Francine, Michelle and all of Joe's family, my most sincere condolences. He touched many and will be remembered.

Uncle Jack was just such a loveable classic!! If he wasn't telling jokes he was playing the guitar and singing with us. ( "all I want is loving you and music, music ,music") I LOVED listening to him play the guitar and he humoured me by playing even when he sometimes didn't really feel like it. In grade school, when he and Aunt Lorraine lived in Azilda I went to their house for lunch sometimes; it was so fun! And, as I got older, we enjoyed many a cup of coffee on Kathleen Street too! I have always admired him for being retrained after his injury to become a very successful teacher at Cambrian. A friend of mine took his class and told me about this great teacher he had...I proudly said "that's my Uncle!!" And don't even get me started about the time he snuck into the kitchen and stole Mom's freshIy baked pies!! I have SO many great memories of special times with Uncle Jack and the family. My thoughts and prayers are with Claudette, Michelle, Francine and all the family and friends Uncle Jack leaves behind. My wish for everyone is comfort, hope and peace during this very sad time.

In life you get to meet a few people who you can call "a genuinely nice person to know". Joe, you were one of those people for me
and I thank you!

My condolences on the loss of Joe - I had him as a teacher in college. I was one of two girls in the Electronics Program in 1991 and Joe was the only teacher who did not treat me like I was a girl in a man's world. He was kind and funny and supportive and a great teacher. I moved programs after a year and a half after Joe sat me down and in his best "concerned dad" voice said, "Is this really what you want to do?" Thanks Joe - It wasn't.
