In loving Memory of Gemma Muia, August 1st, 1927- September 19, 2020- Passed away peacefully, Saturday September 19, 2020 at Health Sciences North with loving family at her side. Beloved wife of Giuseppe “Joe” Muia (predeceased). Loving mother of Ines Verrilli and Frank Muia (wife Beth). Mother- in- law to Vincenzo Verrilli. Cherished Nonna of Francesco Verrilli (wife Amber), Jessica Verrilli, Tina Collins (husband John), Brianna Muia (Mik), Joseph Muia and Olivia Muia. Great grandmother of Gemma and Reid Collins. Dear daughter of Vincenzo and Maria Rosa Muscolo (predeceased). Dear sister of Cecilia, Bruno, and Theresa (predeceased). Gemma will be sadly missed by many nephews and nieces, cousins, family, and friends. Gemma was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking and baking for her family. She loved sewing and embroidery and “just being with family”. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at the Walford Retirement Home and Bayshore where the caring staff were like family during Covid and the 8 years she lived there. The family would also like to thank the medical and healthcare staff at Health Sciences North for their care over the years and especially the 8th floor North staff for their exceptional care in her final days.

Funeral prayers in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 at 2:30pm. Friends may gather after 12:30pm Tuesday. Entombment in the Civic Memorial Mausoleum. Due to the COVID-19 directives, a maximum of 50 people allowed in the visitation room at a time and a maximum of 80 people in the chapel. Mask are mandatory.
