Obituary for Wendy Joyce Armstrong
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Joyce Armstrong (nee Desmarais) on August 18th, 2020. She leaves behind her husband Alvin Norman Glenn Armstrong, her children Charles (Christie), Christopher, Robert (Laura), and Lucille (Marcel). Her grandchildren Ashley, Eric, Chantal, Evan, Chance, Caleb, Vanessa, Hannah, Alyssa, Christopher, Avery, Sarah, Corbin, Sophie, and Piper. She was a great-grandmother to Kasha, Hope, and Calvin. Predeceased by her parents Yvonne Groulx and Rene Desmarais, and foster parents Lucille and Laurin Gervais. Dear sister of Patricia, Laura, Fred, Line, Danny (wife Pauline), Georgette, Leonard, and Yvette. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the wonderful nurses on the 7B floor in the North Tower and the CVT ICU at Health Sciences North, who went above and beyond to care for Wendy.
Wendy had a fighting spirit. She was stronger than you would ever think, and was faced with more than you could’ve imagined, and despite everything she had been through, she was beautiful inside and out. She will forever be remembered for her generous heart and kind soul.
Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, Friday, August 21st, 2020 at 1pm. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. (Friends may call after 11am Friday). Due to COVID-19 Pandemic directives, 50 people or fewer are permitted in the visitation room, and 80 or fewer in the chapel.
