Obituary for Giovanni Braccialarghe

GIOVANNI “JOHN” BRACCIALARGHE
December 14th, 1924 - August. 3rd, 2020.
In loving memory of Giovanni “John” Braccialarghe 95 years who passed away on Monday, August 3rd, 2020 at Health Sciences North. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Carmela “Nella” (nee DiTommaso). He will be dearly missed by his children Julie Lye (Alan), Terri Korzeniecki (Ted) and Rosanna. Adored by his grandchildren Christine Lye (Chris Pakkala), Janet Lye, Allison Lye (Jim Park), Paul Korzeniecki (Debbie), and Tracy Croome (Brad), and his 9 beautiful great grandchildren, all of whom lovingly called him “Papa John”. Giovanni was born in Italy and came to Canada in 1958. He was extremely proud of his Italian heritage. He enjoyed gardening, making his own wine, prosciutto, and tomato sauce. He loved to cook and made the best homemade pizza. Giovanni was very kind, had a great sense of humour and loved to spend time with family. A special thank you to his family physician Dr. Caroline Mailloux. Many thanks to Dr. Lane and Nadine, Dr. Sheridan, Laura Hill, and to all the dedicated and compassionate nurses at Health Sciences North on the 6th Floor, South Tower. Thank you to Cindy and all the other personal support workers who cared for him over the last five months. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch Street, Sudbury) Thursday, August 6th, 2020 at 11:00 am. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday after 9:30 am. Entombment in the Civic Mausoleum. Due to the COVID-19 directives, 80 people or fewer in our chapel and 50 people or fewer in our visitation room. Facemasks are mandatory.
