Obituary for Roy John Landrye

It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Roy John Landrye on Friday, July 24th, 2020 at the age of 57. Roy passed away in the comfort of his home after a quiet but difficult battle with cancer.

Survived by his wife Carol, his soulmate of over 40 years, and daughter Roxie-Lyn, the twinkle of his eye, whom he lovingly nicknamed Reuben. Carol and Roxie now find comfort in knowing Roy will be reunited with their son and brother Royce, who tragically left us 7 years ago.

Roy is predeceased by his adoring mother, Lillian Landrye (Neva) and his father Roy Landrye along with his extended in-law family, Germain and Georgette Larocque. Roy leaves behind siblings Ron, Roana (James), Rodney; brother-in-law Gaetan (Colette), sister-in-law Lynn along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and an abundance of friends. Roy was a skilled driver of trucks and cars. He was naturally hilarious. His off-beat/sarcastic/yada-yada-yada/I-can’t-believe-you-just-said-that kind of humour will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Sawkiw for a lifetime of care.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the NEO Kids Foundation or the NCF Cancer Center would be appreciated.

A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Thursday, July 30th, 2020 from 4pm to 8pm. Due to COVID-19 pandemic directives, 50 people or fewer are permitted in the visitation room at any given time, and face masks are mandatory. There will be a get together for family and friends at a later date. Cremation with interment in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
