Obituary for Lisa Mary McNeil (McNeil)

In loving memory of Lisa McNeil who passed away suddenly in her sleep, on Monday, July 6th, 2020 at the age of 47. Lisa is the beloved mother of Amelia and long-time partner to Dr. Scott Fairgrieve. Cherished daughter of Ray and Mary McNeil of Sudbury and loved sister of Jeff (Ginette Roberge) of Sudbury, Monica Withers (Mike) of Lively, and sister-in-law (but more like a sister) Paula McNeil. Dear aunt to Samantha, Rory, and Sarah and special niece of Lena Anderson and her family. Lisa will be missed by her aunts, uncles, and cousins in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Predeceased by her grandparents Mae and Lazzaro Cariglio and Monica and Herbie McNeil. Lisa graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology at Laurentian and a Masters of Forensic Anthropology from University of Toronto. She also headed up the Crime Scene Challenge for the Amazing Race while it was here in Sudbury.
Lisa will be remembered for her beautiful smile, big blue eyes, and compassionate heart. As well as her tongue-in-cheek sense of humour and creativity. Her daughter Amelia was the joy of her life who shares her beautiful blue eyes. Lisa loved her 90s music and had a thirst for knowledge. Although she left us too soon and her story is unfinished, her book does not close. Her gifts of memories live on.
Donations to Amelia’s Educational Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
