Obituary for Evert Sije de Haan

Evert (Dutch/Ed) de Haan, 69, of Dowling, Ontario has passed away suddenly at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, on July 1, 2020. Ed was born in Holland in 1950 and as a young boy, emigrated to Canada with his family in 1957. He is predeceased by his father Gerrit de Haan and his mother Berty Van Maanen as well as his brother Bert in Heaven. He sadly leaves behind his dearly loved wife Monique (Valiquette/MacNeil) who misses him deeply. He is survived by siblings Caroline (Jack in Heaven), Martha (Terry), Gerry (Nellie), Debbie (Rick) and Andrew (Kristen). He leaves behind his daughters Jennifer MacDonald (Wade) and Sarah Landry (Rodney), stepdaughter Joanne MacNeil (Claude Bisson) and stepson Derek MacNeil (Rebecca). Also remembered with love by his beloved grandchildren are Sarah, Isaac, Davis and Gavin, along with Amanda, Abby, Meaghan and Michael.

Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Sunday, July 5th, 2020 at 2pm. Friends may gather after 12 noon. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic directives, 50 people or fewer may attend in the visitation room, and 80 or fewer in the chapel. Face masks are mandatory.
