He is survived by his wife of over 60 years Anne (Cornthwaite), sons Ivan (Lori), Brent (Pauline) and Bruce (Anne) and 7 grandchildren Meghan, Sabrina, Alex, Lindsay, Wesley, Dayle and Grant.
He went to Central Public School and Sudbury Mining and Technical School. He worked for 34 ½ years at Falconbridge Nickel Mines retiring in 1985. He was a builder and a tinker man, he could fix just about anything and sometimes broke things when trying to fix it. His skills helped him build his home and a camp on Lake Kagawong on Manitoulin Island, where he enjoyed many happy years. He also enjoyed cross country skiing, skating, reading books about World War 2 and working at St. Andrew’s United Church in the kitchen and the Fall Fair. He made special bird houses that were sold annually at the “Fair”.
Special thanks to the exceptional staff at Extendicare Falconbridge for all their compassion and wonderful care given to Carl while he resided there. If desired, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or St. Andrew’s United Church would be appreciated.
