Obituary

McHattie, Lawrence “Larry”

Lawrence (Larry) McHattie, born in Peterborough, Ontario, was pre-deceased by his parents. Larry passed peacefully but suddenly of acute illness on May 7th 2020 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury Ontario. He left this world without pain and suffering...unfortunately, simply too young, but with loved ones at his side. He is survived by his pride and joy: his one son Wesley McHattie, whom is world revolved around. He is also survived by a plethora of close friends who became family. Larry was retired from a long and fruitful career in sales with a national company. He worked part time at The Rock Harley-Davidson in sales, as motorcycles, riding, people and selling was his passion. Larry was super social, with a wide range of friends, close and far, from a lifetime of joking, laughing and being the life of the party. Larry was very active in the Lion’s Club in Sudbury, dedicating every Saturday to calling porketta bingo, spreading laughs and jokes (as usual) throughout the community. Larry could always be counted upon for a laugh, a hug, a smile, and support to anyone who knew him. He was a great man and the best father a son could ask for and was taken from the world too soon....but in peace and in a better place now.
Rest in Peace, amazing man...rest in peace Larry.
Donations and flowers can be made in lieu of Lions club SUDBURY.
As per Larry’s request, there will be no funeral home visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.

Larry sold me my first Hatley in 2015. Although I only knew him a short time I would stop in just to say hi and have some good conversation. Always a good laugh and conversation. He will be sorely missed.

My dearest Larry, BEST FRIEND and BROTHER. It is so hard for me to believe, that I saw you that day, and in the evening you took ill. How was I to know it would be my last time I got to see you? l will FOREVER MISS your PRESENCE, your HUGS, your SMILE, your FUNNY JOKES, your SENSE of HUMOR, our LAUGHS, our GARAGE TIME watching our FAVORITE TV show, TWO & A HALF MEN after we finished our shift at THE ROCK Harley Davidson, all the PARTY’S with all our FRIENDS, BUT most of all I WILL MISS the RIDING we SHARED TOGETHER. I also can’t THANK YOU enough for the times you shared your bike with me. Larry I know you are with your ANGELS now, and for that I am TRULY HAPPY for you BROTHER. You made a HUGE DIFFERENCE in this WORLD Larry, with your KIND and CARING HEART and always OPENING up your HOME to all your FRIENDS. We all knew you were the LIFE of the PARTY with all your FUNNY JOKES and WITTINESS. There was never a dull moment in the garage / your man cave that you LOVED so much. Not just I, but EVERYONE ONE OF OUR FRIENDS & YOUR FAMILY WILL MISS YOU DEARLY.

I FEEL TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE MET YOUR SOUL IN THIS LIFE TIME

I LOVE YOU BROTHER.

You will always hold a special place in my heart and my life. I was blessed to have meet you and proud to call you a friend. You took me under your wing when I moved to Sudbury and "showed me the ropes" at Imperial. You were always there to support, guide and assist me with anything in my life. I will cherish our memories close to my heart forever. You will be forever loved and never forgotten. My sincerest condolences to Wes and all the people that had the pleasure of loving you.
Rest well my friend. xo Christina Hayden& Craig Solomon
