The family announces the passing of John Nadalin on Friday, April 3rd, 2020 at the age of 93 years. John was born on October 29, 1926 in Morsano al Tagliamento, Italy. Son of the late Luigi and Maria (Celotto) Nadalin of Italy. Beloved husband for over 67 years to Rinalda (Bortoli). Loving father of Mandy (husband Michael Mazza) of London, Ontario and Rosemary (husband Eric Cooper) of Ottawa, Ontario. Cherished Nonno of Tony and Andrew Mazza, Patrick (wife Janine) and William Cooper, and great grandfather of Brice and Eleanor Cooper. Dear brother of Gianna Panni (husband Guiseppe), of British Columbia. Predeceased by his brother Lino (wife Marilyn) of Sudbury and sisters Lina, and Alice of Italy. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, in Canada and Italy, in particular Alessio Piasentin (Sharon predeceased) of Sudbury.
John was a longtime employee of INCO where he won many awards for innovation in his work area. He was a longstanding member of the Caruso Club and Associazione Nazionale Alpini. John was an accomplished master carpenter who built his own house and others, and his carpentry handiwork can be found in the staircases, cupboards, and furniture of many homes in Sudbury and surrounding area. John was always the artist, experimenting with painting and wood carving. He was a faithful volunteer for many years at the Memorial Hospital and later at the Laurentian Hospital site in Sudbury, Ontario. The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Garrioch of Sudbury and Dr. Heather Bocz and the nurses and support workers at Bridlewood Trails Retirement Community in Ottawa.
