It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Luigi Marcuccio, peacefully at the age of 92 on April 3rd, 2020 at Health Sciences North.
Born in Castel Campagnano, Italy, on June 8th, 1927, he came to Canada and married Giovannina (Sanfelice) in 1953. Dear son of Giovanni and Maddalena Marcuccio both predeceased. Loving father to John (Danielle), Grace (Garry Spencer), and Fenya Marcantognini (Mauro). Cherished Nonno Gigi of Stephanie, Mario Marcantognini (Katrina), Natascia Foligno (Marcus), and Michael Marcantognini. Bis Nonno to Olivia, Eleanor, and Charlotte. Dear brother of Andrea (Nicoletta) both predeceased, Benito (predeceased) (Giovannina), Stefano (Sara), Lauretta Perfetto (Angelo) both predeceased, Catarina Brino (Orlando) both predeceased, and Maria Orsini (Antonio) both predeceased. He was the dear brother-in-law to Ralph and Maria Sanfelice, both predeceased, Domenic and Yvonne Sanfelice, both predeceased and Maria and Cesare Mione. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and wonderful neighbours.

Luigi was a sweet, kind, and loving man, who warmed the hearts of those around him. He had an abundance of patience and his generosity was admirable. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. Time with them was never enough. He looked forward to the summer months when he could spend his days in the garden and being outdoors. He enjoyed making wine, cooking, and baking. What he loved most was sharing the fruits of his labour with everyone. “We will miss all of his homemade pizzas and bread. We will miss him and his big heart the most.” “You will be in our hearts forever.” Rest in Peace, Gigi!
