Obituary

Alfred Gingras (94)

It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Alfred Gingras from this life on Sunday, March 15th 2020 at the age of 94. Beloved husband and soulmate of 72 years to Theresa (Leclair). Beloved father of Gary (Cherie) of Barrie, Gail Durocher (Jim) of Alberta, Debbie Pretz (JP predeceased) and Lorie Royer (John) of Sudbury. Cherished Papa of Tammi Conner (John predeceased), Tracy Moran (Sean), Lynsie Royer, Michael Pretz and Johnny Royer (Ashley). Great grandfather of Chelsey, Cody and Jack. Alfred worked at Falconbridge for 37 years and enjoyed retirement for another 37 years. Many of those years were spent as snowbirds in Florida. He enjoyed many hours in his workshop and his garden, but the time he loved most was with his family. He will be missed by many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Barbara and Rolly Carpenter for all of their love and support throughout the years. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff that provided loving care from Home Instead (Maria), Care Partners (Sue and Pam) and Extendicare Falconbridge (4th Floor staff).
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
If you wish to donate to the Alzheimer’s Society of Sudbury that would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.

«Mon Oncle Pitou» was my godfather and I will always remember his kind words and loving regard. I was away from Sudbury a lot and did not always take the time to visit him and Aunt Theresa... time available always seemed too short, but I tried to make up for it these last years and got to see him a few times. I will fondly remember his and her last wedding anniversary celebration where it was so good to see him and others who gathered there to commemorate that happy day...

Sincères condoléances à toute la famille...
