Joshua Douglas Crouse my first and only grandson Non misses you so much! Today is My 87 birthday and i am remembering you as last year your dad, Doug Jr. you and I opened camp together and celebrated my birthday. It is with very fond memories that I write this message in your remembrance grandson. You certainly made my week at camp so memorable and enjoyable. My cake was fantastic and the birthday blessing and gifts were great! We enjoyed so much time together. The stars in the heavens were exquisite! Thank you for all of your hard work cleaning and repairing and replenishing things to ready our stay on Crouse Island. You were an exceptional outdoors man learning these things from your grandpa Doug Sr. and your dad Doug Jr. I thank God that you are with Jesus and I have the beautiful dream that God gave me to secure this promise. It feels like time is standing still, the world has forever changed and in so many more ways that anyone can fathom. I miss my nephew Josh and I spend a great deal of time reflecting. I’d like to share some of my thoughts since Josh died. My nephew Josh was a December baby, the first and only grandson on the Crouse side of the family and the 1st baby I ever held. Thank-you Josh for the time I was able to spend with you. You are a life that was so unfinished. You had so many things that were left undone, dreams, hopes, goals. I know and I will not forget. I will not forget the times we had together. Your genuine enthusiasm for many things. Helping anyone who needed it at any time - you were that guy, the one who would give the shirt off your back. Being in the bush, at camp and fishing - some of the great joys of your life. Likely not everyone knew what a wonderful cook you were. Your love, support and amazement for your baby sisters and all they have achieved. Your love for your family was unmatched. Your resilience like nobody I’ve ever known. I know you’re with Grampa. I know you miss us too. I know we will see you again one day. I know you will forever be in my heart and in the hearts of many. Love Auntie

We were so so saddened on hearing of the loss of your precious Joshua. Our earliest memories of Joshua were from Sudbury where our boys were born. Joshua was a sweet, playful, energetic little boy - the picture of health. How he was loved, cared for and afforded the best of every opportunity in life!
So many plans, dreams and chapters were yet to be written, but he is now passed through the veil into eternity. If we could only pull back the curtain...we could better understand.
Although we were half a world away, when we returned and moved to Alberta, we were able to pick up as good friends do, where we left off.
We have fond memories of brief, but meaningful family holiday memories in BC, of visits to each other's homes.
Life will carry on, but will never be the same again without him.
We miss you Joshua. You are now with Jesus.
Jesus' words to us in Matthew 6:19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Doug and Wanda, Bethany, Tej, Rebecca, and Tillie, Josh, one of your greatest treasures, is in heaven, along with his beloved Grandpa and are safe and sound in Christ, waiting for us all.

I first met Josh when the family moved to Edmonton. Josh was just that young man that I really wanted to know more about as he moved through his teenage years. I cant explain really why; but it was just so. Time marched on and I heard he loved the big construction heavy equipment and was operating the big equipment - I was so happy for him and I reached out in my industry (Pipelines) to see if I could help with some employment opportunity.
On behalf of my entire family, sincere condolences to the entire family in this very difficult time.
Praying for you all.
