BORLEY- Royston George “Roy”

A beloved resident of Pioneer Manor for 7 months, Roy died in peace, surrounded by his loving family and dedicated staff. Son of May Barker and Ted Borley (both predeceased). Roy was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Mourned by his best friend, the love of his life for 49 years, Margaret (Marshall) Borley. Roy is also survived by his sister Edna Hill of St. Mary’s, her daughters Linda and Andrea and her son Allan. Sadly missed by sisters-in-law: Joan (Yvan Gunville), Betty (Ted Szilva, predeceased), Dorothy (Richard Robidoux), Bonnie Barber and Sheila Anne Marshall (both predeceased). Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, neighbours and his bowling league and loved ones in England.
After completing his Masters Degree in Social Work at the London School of Economics, Roy initially practiced front line social work in England and later in administrative positions both in England and Canada. Socially aware and committed to service in his community, Roy was loved and respected by all who knew him.
