LARONDE, Elizabeth Mary (Nee Mulligan) - In loving memory of Elizabeth (Liz) Laronde, 92 years, who passed away Monday, December 16, 2019, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Beloved wife of Bert (Albert) Laronde for 49 years. Loving mother of Gerald (wife Leslie) of North Bay, Terry (wife Zina) of Kitchener, Tim (wife Lisa) of Newmarket, Gary (wife Dawn) of Bedford, Texas, and MaryBeth (husband Kevin McDowell). Cherished Grandma of Aimee (Christopher Bosselle), Andrew (Melody Aube), Adrienne, Jason, Tyler, Lindsay, Brandon, Shane, Ryan, Katie, and Colin. Treasured Great-Grandmother of Thomas, son of Aimee and Christopher. Loving daughter of Joseph and Mary (O’Reilly) Mulligan (predeceased). Dear sister of Edgar (Elise), Terrence (Beth), Athol (Margaret), Andrew, Francis (Edith), Joseph (Ruth), Barney, Billy (Ardell), and Sister Josephine (all predeceased). Survived by Sister Mary, brothers John (Margaret) and Phillip (Peggy, predeceased).
Born on a farm in Quyon, Quebec, February 1, 1927. Liz was proud of her tough farming background and that toughness was extended in her fight for life in her last days. She was a school teacher who taught in the Ottawa Valley, Yellowknife, and Sudbury. When she retired, she travelled with her husband Bert and enjoyed winning at casinos throughout North America.
Visitation on Wednesday, December 18th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. Andrew the Apostle, 1250 Barrydowne Rd., Sudbury Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 10 a.m. Internment to follow in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate (https://solisisters.ca/donations.html) or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
