Obituary for Anilla Edwards (Sgoifo)

In Loving Memory of
Anilla Edwards
(nee Sgoifo)
Born on June 25th, 1927 in Timmins, Ontario.
Passed peacefully on December 12th, 2019 in Sudbury, Ontario.

Predeceased by her loving spouse Kenneth Elwood “Elly” Edwards, and her parents Giuseppe Sgoifo and Teresa (Midena). Loving mother of Lynn Mary (spouse Cathy MacKenzie), Brent George (spouse Tiffany Larocque), and Neil Joseph (spouse Heather Elliott). Cherished grandmother of Laurie (Jeff Dunn), Stacey (Brian Joblin), Meagan, and Cara (Josh Cooney). Dear great grandmother of Zoey, Hailey, Jax, and Callum. Very sadly missed by nieces Lisa and Natalie and nephew Adrian. Stepgrandmother of Brenna, Brady, and Morgan. Predeceased by her brothers Albert, Victor, and Edward (Eddie).

Anilla loved her family, and she was so very proud of her grandchildren’s accomplishments in life. She remembered everyone’s birthday and was sure to buy a card, place a little something in it, and have it mailed to arrive on their special day. One of her passions was gardening, and she took great pride in her flowers. In her later years, she took up painting, and was very good at putting to paper what she envisioned. Anilla was a great cook, and everyone wanted her recipes. We were fortunate to each receive a copy of her specially-compiled recipe book. Anilla was a great listener. She would listen to any issue that one of us might have, and then very calmly and wisely give her input, never telling us what we should do, but giving her guidance and then leaving it for us to decide. Anilla was a very kind, loving, generous person, who welcomed all into her home. She truly enjoyed the grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s visits. Anilla will be remembered for her gentleness and kindness, and her love for all.
