“Väinö’s infectious smile and optimism carried him through his life and shone brightest in his final weeks. Väinö was an avid outdoorsman and loved the forest (especially with chainsaw in hand!). He greatly enjoyed being at the camp he built on Onaping Lake. The bigger the family grew the more buildings were built for all to enjoy. He was a talented carpenter and skilled hardworking miner retiring from INCO in 1991 with 30 years’ service! His greatest joy was sharing time with his family and his love for our mom was what defined him. He found great comfort in his faith knowing he would be reunited with his son one day.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 29th, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Finnish Pentecostal Church (1843 Paris St, Sudbury). Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with burial alongside his son in Maplecrest Cemetery at a later date.

Donations to the Finnish Pentecostal Church would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
