Obituary for Pauline Nadjiwan

Pauline Josephine Nadjiwan (nee Beaudry) started her Spirit Walk on Sudbury, October 20th, 2019. Beloved wife of Sam Nadjiwan (predeceased 1995). Loving mother of Christopher (Marilyn Laurin), Richard (Patricia), Marilyn Nadjiwan Rasi (Paul predeceased), Cecilia Lawrence (Ted), Kenneth Nadjiwan (Marlene). Dedicated Nana of Patrick Nadjiwan (Krista Yao), Andrew Nadjiwan, Robert and Joseph Nadjiwan (deceased), Samantha Nadjiwan (Joe Moodie), Todd Nadjiwan (deceased), Robin Nadjiwan (Eric Bowles), Jennifer Keast (Ron), Michael Nadjiwan Dunn (Selina Tang), Monica Rasi, Scott Lawrence (Crystal), Stuart Lawrence (Christy) and Robert Lawrence. Great Nana of Piper, Ayasha, Mauve, Brittany, Amanda, Tessa and Jocelyne. Special Nana of Catherine and Eric Rasi. Favourite Auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. Pauline though dedicated to her Catholic Faith, lived her life in a very Traditional Anishnaabe way. She believed that our whole reason for being was to build relationships with no judgment of others. Pauline also believed that we each need to share and lived that belief by sharing not just material things but her knowledge, experience, sense of humour and above all her love. Pauline always put family first, doing her best to inspire her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to use all of the gifts given them by Creator and to follow their own path in life. Through-out her life Pauline was very active in her community. She was a founding member of St. Patrick’s Parish Catholic Women’s League, The Nickel Belt Indian Club, and the Lockerby Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 564. Even in her 100th year she was her unit representative on the Residents’ Council of St. Joseph’s Villa. Renowned for her baking, particularly pies and her knitting, Pauline donated to numerous fund raising events. Though sadly missed, she leaves behind a legacy of dedication to family first, neighbours, friends and community. A true role model to all of us.
