Maria “Tina” Concetta De Paolis
(nee Pagano)
84 years.
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at Maison McCulloch Hospice.
Beloved wife of Sebastiano De Paolis for over 66 years. Loving & devoted mother of Lina De Paolis (Ian MacMullin), Joe (Debbie), Mario (Mary Montgomery) and Lenny (Shelley). Much loved and special Nonni of Reta-Marie (Marc), Joel (Nicole), Bradley predeceased, Andrea, Darren and Marina and great granddaughter Olivia. Predeceased by her parents Mario & Leondina Pagano (nee Coppa) and siblings Vic, Sylvio and Grace. Survived by her brother Joe Pagano (Ellen predeceased). She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
Maria was born in Ponza, Latina, Italy in 1934 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. She married Sebastiano in 1952. She was a woman of faith and a devoted lifelong member of Christ the King Church. She was a great cook, and took great pride in preparing Sunday night dinners for her family. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.
The family wishes to thank all of those wonderful people who have had a part in Maria’s journey this past year. To all of the doctors, nurses, PSWs and staff who took such amazing care of Maria and her family. A very special thank you to the staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion and for welcoming Nonni home ♥.
