Obituary for Battista Cerri

It is with profound sadness, the family of Battista (Tino) Cerri , 89, announces his
passing Saturday August 24th, 2019. Tino was preceeded in death by his dearest mother Maria Bartoli,his father, Mario Cerri and his sister Liliana Pozzuoli.
Born November 26th, 1929 in Cattolica, Italy, Tino spent his youth divided between the beaches of Cattolica and the orchards of Cattabrighe.
In 1949, he immigrated to Sudbury, Canada, where he learned the trade of plastering. In 1958, he married Luciana Veccia and started a family. Over the decades he built a plastering business and raised a family. He was proud of his work and he loved his family and friends and we loved him back. He brought joy and laughter and dancing to everyone who knew him.
His spirit is carried on by his loving wife of 60 years, Luciana (Veccia), his children Anna (Ken McGreer),Mario and Laurie, his grandchildren Madeleine (Ben Li), Sabina (Daniel Theofanidis), Quinn, Rigel, Daniel, Nora and his great-granddaughter Amelia. He will also be lovingly remembered by many extended family members, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank all the staff on the 4th floor, North Tower, at HSN for their comfort and compassion.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Wednesday August 28th, 2019 at 1 p.m.
Donations can be made in his memory to Maison McCulloch Hospice, Northeast Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
