Daisy was born in Hough Lake. She married Garnett Phippen in 1950 in Kirkland Lake, settling in Whitefish in 1957. She worked with her husband in the family business for 25 years, sharing with her husband an inspired work ethic. A woman of faith, she had been a founder of Bethel Baptist Church, and she practiced her faith on a daily basis in loving her God and loving her neighbour. She will be remembered as a very hospitable person who welcomed people to her home, where she always had time for tea and a conversation. She made everyone feel comfortable and valued, as she shared her wisdom and life experience, which helped family and friends. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Daisy now dwells in the house of the Lord with her beloved husband, forever and ever.
