In Loving Memory of
Daisy Eleanor Patricia Phippen (nee Lippett)
86 years
Peacefully on Thursday, August 15th, 2019 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury with loving family at her side.

Beloved wife of Garnett Phippen predeceased 2003. Loving mother of Miles (wife Rebecca), Joan (husband Everett Henderson), and James (wife Sherri). Cherished grandmother of Krista (Dan), Jenna (Pedro), Erin (Dan), Stacey (Ben), James (Aida), Lindsay (Adam), Matthew, Jonathan, Rebecca, and great grandchildren Harper, Jude, Amelia, Alyson, Alex, Paige, Luke, Nathan, Katelyn, Diego, Emmie, Caleb, Rachel and Joshua.

Loving daughter of George and Ethel (nee Busch) Lippett both predeceased. Dear sister of Harold (wife Margaret), and the late Wesley, Frank, Amy Brydges, Irvene, Edwin, Kathleen Adair, and Hazel Lange, all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Daisy was born in Hough Lake. She married Garnett Phippen in 1950 in Kirkland Lake, settling in Whitefish in 1957. She worked with her husband in the family business for 25 years, sharing with her husband an inspired work ethic. A woman of faith, she had been a founder of Bethel Baptist Church, and she practiced her faith on a daily basis in loving her God and loving her neighbour. She will be remembered as a very hospitable person who welcomed people to her home, where she always had time for tea and a conversation. She made everyone feel comfortable and valued, as she shared her wisdom and life experience, which helped family and friends. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Daisy now dwells in the house of the Lord with her beloved husband, forever and ever.

My thoughts of Daisy are deeply embedded in my memories and my heart!
As I look back at my childhood, Daisy was the example of what Jesus taught and how he loved others.
Garnet and Daisy would pick us up along with the neighbourhood kids, for Sunday School, in their bus every week. We always knew we were welcome when we saw her amazing smile and sparkly eyes . As a Sunday School teacher, she was fun, gentle and always encouraging! She taught us empathy for others and we saw Jesus through her gentle eyes.
She was so kind and so non-judgemental. She seemed to understand what everyone was going through and was accepting with her love. I am sad for a world without Daisy, and for her family and friends who will deeply miss her presence but I rejoice where she is now . Thank you Daisy, for your kindness over the years. You made a real difference in my life and in the lives of so many children growing up in Den-Lou and area. I am very happy to have known you, Daisy!

Sorry for your loss, my condolences to the family. Daisy was my bus driver when I was in public school. I always admired her kind manner and genuine concern for everyone. She was a role model to me, a pillar of the community. She is somebody I always admired and looked up to. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel, I will miss your beautiful smile and kind ways. Rest in peace, love Cheryl Thurston and family.

Daisy Phippen, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend,

Blessing for Mother from John O'Donohue
To Bless the Space Between us

Your voice learning to soothe
Your new child
Was the first home-sound
We heard before we could see.

Your young eyes
Gazing on us
Was the first mirror
Where we glimpsed
What to be seen
Could mean.

Your nearness filled the air,
An umbilical garden for all the seeds
Of longing that stirred in our infant hearts.

You nurtured and fostered this space
To root all our quietly gathering intensity
That could grow nowhere else.

Formed from the depths beneath your heart,
You know us from the inside out.
No deeds or seas or others
Could ever erase that.

Holding the Daisy's family in our hearts, as you Journey through this time of grief.

Love Niece Cynthia Lynn and Barry

My sincerest heart felt condolences to all of the families. We had just visited with Mrs Phippen on August 1st and she was in good spirits and we shared a few laughs. She will be missed but, we will see her again some day.
