KEROLA, JOUNI VILHELM: 89 passed peacefully at Finlandia Village on August 13, 2019.
Survived by his wife Helena of 59 years, daughter Anne (Michael) of Guelph and grand
daughters, Kirsten (Dave) and Rebecca (Scott) also sister Helle of Kannus, Finland. Predeceased
by son Jari (1980) and siblings: Aili, Olavi, Oiva and Soini, also survived by many nieces and
nephews in Finland and Sweden.
Jouni emigrated from Finland to Canada in 1957 and after working in Kormak at the lumber mill
and bush camp for 5 years moved his family to Dowling, working for Inco for 27 years.
Cremation has taken place. As per Jouni’s wishes there will be no public visitation, only a
private family service. Ashes to be interred at Maplecrest Cemetery, Dowling. The family
wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff at Finlandia Village for their care and compassion.
Donations to New Hope Lutheran Church would be gratefully accepted. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
