Obituary for Bertha Regina Palumbo (Candelori)
In Loving Memory of Bertha (nee Candelori) Palumbo 98 years
Peacefully Tuesday, May 14th 2019 at St. Joseph’s Villa.
Beloved wife of Frank Palumbo predeceased 1996. Loving mother of Mark (wife Darielle). Cherished Nonna to Marni (husband Mark Kay) Michael (wife Amy) and great grandma to Mya, Andrea, Nicolas and Cecilia. Dear step grandmother to Yvan and Melanie Castonguay. Loving sister of Rena Pianosi (husband Red) both predeceased. Special aunt to Patricia, Paula and Victor. Dear mother in law to Carolyn Palumbo predeceased 1998.
Bertha was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario where she married Frank Palumbo in 1943, moving to Levack in 1951 where she and her husband owned and operated the Levack Drug Store. She managed the gift displays and retail sales. A very artistic and creative person she made beautiful wreaths and home décor that were treasured by many. Bertha and Frank were very active in the community. Their leadership, hard work and generosity made a difference and improved the lives of others.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph’s Villa or St. Stephen the Martyr Church Dowling would be appreciated.
Funeral Prayers in the R.J Barnard Chapel at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 at 3PM
Entombment in the family Mausoleum at Sault Ste. Marie Michigan
