Obituary for Marie Gainer
Gainer, Marie Anne
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Anne Gainer on April 19, 2019 at Health Sciences North. Marie was 71 years of age and was a lifelong resident of Sudbury. She was the daughter of Russell and Jean Gainer and sister of Ray and Gary, all predeceased. She is survived by her brothers Patrick, Brian (Mae) and Edward; sisters Theresa (David), Betty and Judy (Alex); sister-in-law Lee; five nieces and nephews; seven grand nieces and nephews; Aunt Peggy, Aunt Sylvia and many cousins. A graduate of Cambrian College, Marie worked as a Court Reporter for many years. Later, she worked as a Group Home Counsellor and an Education Assistant with Sudbury District Catholic School Board. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Mirka, Dr. Pitre and all the wonderful health care professionals who brought comfort to Marie in her final weeks. As well, we ask God to bless the caring folks at the Ukrainian Seniors Centre and all her dear sweet friends whose kindness we will never forget. A celebration of Marie's life will take place at Christ the King Church, 21 Ste. Anne Road on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 11 am followed by a reception in the Fellowship Room of Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St. Interment at Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice in Marie's memory would be greatly appreciated. For donations or messages of condolence, www.lougheed.org.
