Mary Lorraine Grenko (nee Sutherland)

It is with profound sadness that the family announce her passing on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Sudbury with her family by her side.

Born in 1929 to James and Ida Sutherland both predeceased. Cherished wife of John predeceased 2014. Beloved mother of Ron (Cathy), Nancy Lee predeceased and Cathy Morin (Brian) all of Sudbury. Precious Grammy of Stephanie Grenko-Klein (Rob) of Fernie, B.C., Brian Grenko (Alicia) and Katelyn Grenko (Alex) of Sudbury. Loving Great Grammy to Andy and Henry Klein of Fernie B.C. Loving sister of Peggy & George Richardson both predeceased, June Houston (Tom predeceased), Gerve Sutherland predeceased, Don Sutherland (Alice) both predeceased, May Hall predeceased (Jim). Loving sister in law of Nancy and Steve Gribbon. She is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Mary grew up in Schumacher, Ontario where she worked for a number of years and eventually met and married John. They started and began to raise a family there. She devoted her life to being a wonderful mother. Their lives and his work would eventually lead them to live in Kirkland Lake, Sault Ste. Marie and finally Sudbury. In each town they made many genuine, lifelong friends. Their home was always filled with company - family and friends enjoyed many delicious meals she prepared. She and John traveled extensively over the years and made good memories in many Countries with their traveling companions. She truly appreciated nature and enjoyed the outdoors, loved music and concerts, and faithfully supported her Toronto Blue Jays.

We were blessed to have you in our lives and admired your strength, patience and generosity. You were such a kind and gentle soul whose positivity was both admirable and incomparable. You will forever remain in our hearts and thoughts.

The family would like to thank Bayshore nurses Tracy and Jenna for all their visits. Thank you to Myfawny (Muffie) McIntosh for all the kindness, assistance and love you have shown to Mary and the family. A special thanks to Dr. Mary Olsten for the excellent care and all the extra devotion in recent months.
