Norma “Gail” (nee McDonald) Roach
82 years
Peacefully, Monday, October 1st, 2018 at Health Sciences North, with loving family at her side.

Beloved wife of Romeo Roach predeceased 2013. Loving mother of John Roach (wife Dora), Shelley Lalonde, and Mary-Ellen Pon (husband Ken). Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Allan (Lisa), Victoria (Shannon) and Andrew (Janik) and great-grandchildren Christian, Ian, Tyson, and Bobby. Dear daughter of Angus and Florence (Bentley) McDonald predeceased. Dear sister of Donna Peloquin (Don predeceased).
A devout Roman Catholic, she attended Our Lady of Hope Church and belonged to the parish CWL. Gail loved travelling, beating people at cards, and loved curling and yard-saling.

The family expresses their appreciation to her doctors, nurses, and PSWs at HSN for their excellent care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or Blue Door Café (Soup Kitchen) would be appreciated.

Very sorry for the family's loss. Gail was such a lively and fun person. I always enjoyed my visits with her and going to miss her. She was an animal lover, like me. I remember walking her dog Moses when I was little and the ditches that dog would drag me through if he caught an exciting scent.

I'm really going to miss hearing about her arguments with my grandfather over a game of cards and who was the better player.

I remember many a visit up in Parry Sound, don't think a bear would have wanted to meet up with her. She was her own person. You and your families will have many memories to share and cherish. I am so sorry to learn of Aunt Gail's passing, but happy to see she will endure no more pain. She was always so happy to see me when I could visit, and made me feel so valued as a guest in her home.
This internet condolence feels so cold, since I am sorry that I cannot attend the services. My hope is that all her family will remember her fondly, and miss her, as I will.
