Obituary for Cecile Bertuzzi (Martin)

BERTUZZI, Mary Helen Cecile
It is with profound sadness that the Bertuzzi family announce the passing of a great lady, Cecile Bertuzzi (nee Martin), on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of Noah Bertuzzi (predeceased 2010), whom she married in 1948. Loving mother of Albert (Sue), Gail (Lachapelle) Bertuzzi, Linda (Rene Collin), Nora (Mike Welsh), Robert (Beverly), Anne-Marie (Howard Machum), and Noah Jr. “Joe” (Lynn), all of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Dear daughter of Paul and Pearl (Huneault) Martin both predeceased. Loving sister of Jeannine Lekun (husband Norm predeceased), Paul (wife Fern predeceased), Claire Farnel (husband Edgar), Diane Dumais (husband Vic), and the late Irene Dubreuil (James predeceased), Gerrald, Rita Prince (Ed predeceased), Maurice (Edna predeceased), Roger, Lionel “Butch” (Laurie), Orval, Raymond, and Claudette. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Elizabeth “Liz” (husband Con Disalle), and Lucy (Leo predeceased) of Sudbury. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Cecile was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest pleasure came from cooking and spending time with family, where everyone was treated to their favourite dishes, especially her infamous “chicken snowball soup” or cinnamon rolls. Her family always came first, and her devotion to them is her greatest legacy, which continues to live on in her children. Her kind and generous spirit will be sorely missed. Her passing will leave a void in the lives of all her loved ones. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Villa (Garden Way) for the exceptional care given to our mother. A very special mention to Kassandra, whose care and compassion for the last eight years was outstanding and much appreciated by the Bertuzzi family.
