Life Story for Robert John "Bob" McOrmond

The family announces with sorrow his death on Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Bob was 73 and was born in Sudbury. Beloved husband of Patricia Louise (Maloney); father of Christina (predeceased), Russell (Rina), James (Josee); brother of Ed (Mina), Ken (June) both predeceased, Walter (Marion), Mildred (predeceased) (Bill), Leonard, Muriel, Charles, Lillian (predeceased) (Neil) and special sister-in-law Hulda. Loved by other in laws Michael (predeceased) (Cathy), Barbara (Brent), Kathy (Omer), Susan (Bill), Maureen (Ron). He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews and their families. Bob and Pat married in June of 1963 at St. Stephens on the Hill United Church where they still attend. Bob was a member of the choir, Church Council and the Property Committee and participated in the church Out of the Cold program. Bob was President of the Shuniah (Sudbury) Foresters and helped organize many bowling tournaments and social events. Bob and family were active members of the National Family Campers and RVers and enjoyed camping all across Canada and the U.S. Bob worked as a mechanic at several automotive business including Woolco Automotive and Canadian Tire, then upgraded his education and worked as a supply teacher and then taught Small Motors and Engines courses at Cambrian College.
