Obituary for Nicola Ingriselli

In Loving Memory of
Nicola Ingriselli
June 15, 1928 – April 13, 2017

Beloved husband of Maria (Della Porta). Loving father to Luigia (Louise) Boschetto (Rino), Roberto Ingriselli, and Renato Ingriselli (Lorilei Ryan). Cherished Nonno to Julia Boschetto Brine (Kevin), Daniel Ingriselli (Telysa), and Aiden Ingriselli, and Bis-Nonno to Sofia Rose. Dear brother of Giuseppina Marcuccio predeceased (Donato predeceased), Angelo Ingriselli (Rosa), Rafaelle Ingriselli predeceased (Concetta), Cristina Della Porta predeceased (Luigi predeceased), Virginia Marcuccio predeceased (Salvatore predeceased), Maria Presenza (Luigi), and Padre Igino from Italy, predeceased.

Nicola immigrated to Canada in 1963 and became a dedicated barber to many clients. He was a successful businessman and a respected barber at The Hair Centre, now known as Nils Hair Centre. He worked in the industry for 44 years, having had the pleasure of cutting many clients’ hair. He took great pride in his work and will never be forgotten by his clients, as a caring, gentle, always smiling barber who had a magical touch with children. Nicola retired in February 2008, at the age of 79 years.

Nicola was an avid wine maker and gardener, and he loved to make prosciutto, capicolla, and sausage. Nicola had a great love of music. He learned to play guitar, harmonica, mandolin all by ear, never having taken any lessons. There was always music playing in his household. He was known as Mr. Fix-it: there was nothing he could not fix, always tinkering around in his garage and his shed. He was a very simple and humble man who loved his family. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchild were his pride and joy. Sunday dinners were the highlight of the week with all the family gathering together at the dinner table with Nonno and Nonna. Nicola would say the magic words, “Tutti a tavola a mangiare”, and everyone would take their places with Nicola at the head of the table. No one missed Sunday dinner at Nonno’s house. He will be missed by all who knew him, and never be forgotten.
