Click here to view all obituariesWe first met Saul when he and Judi bought the McNeice and Smith Business on what was then Spruce St. I was on holidays at the time and did not meet them in the first couple weeks of their taking over the business. When I did finally meet them I liked them immediately and that liking developed into a very good friendship, with them and with their son Jeffery (Jiffy) who worked in the business as well...later we also met their two daughters Randi and Hindi, then the parents ...in all cases it was an immediately "easy" feeling. At the time they had a lovely dog Mitzi who also "worked " at the shop....Mitzi was later replaced by Jeff's dog Cash who became my fellow office worker! I have nothing but good memories of that time and as our friendship deepened, we were included in several family affairs at the Cartman's home....each time we felt priviledged to be included. Over the years we shared many laughs and some not quite so happy times. When I retired from the business in 1999 I really missed the fun days that we had shared...we have maintained our friendship over a long distance ....I last saw Saul in Oct., 2014 and as usual it was a delight to see them both. I rather knew on that visit that I may not see my "buddy" again....I will really miss him and his St. Patrick day calls (using his best Irish accent!)...EARLY in the morning !! It was an honour to have know Saul and his family!! A good friend who has left me with many great memories of the times we shared together!! Rest well my friend-- You've earned it !!
