Anita passed away at Health Sciences North on October 30th, 2014 at the lovely age of 90 years. She and her husband Raymond (predeceased in 2000) were long-time residents of Longlac, Ontario. She was the loving mother of Michelle Quirion (Doug Stephens) of Sudbury, Roger (Gail), Suzie of Thunder Bay and Andre (Sharon) of Oshawa. Denise, Rheal, Celine and Louise (all predeceased). She was the extraordinary grandmother of Christopher Miron (Wendy) of Whistler, Matthew, Hilary and Andrew of Thunder Bay, Gavin, (Tracey), Bryan (Daniella), and Katelyn (Justin) Barrett of Thunder Bay and Steven of Red Deer and James (Lindsay) Quirion of Oshawa and Shannon Steele (Mike). She was the precious great-grandmother of Chloe Miron, Marianna and Henry Barrett and Rylan, Gracie, Jailyn and Grady Quirion and Matthew and Charlie Steele. She is survived by brothers Marcel, Martin and Claude and her sisters Martha, Claudette and Mariette. Until the last few months of her life, our mother was totally involved with her community - she called the folks there “her second family” and loved living in her house.
She was a devout Catholic, daughter of Isabella, a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, and a friend to so many. She will forever be remembered for her unfailing love of her family, for her incredible zest for life, and for her wonderful sense of humour. She will be missed incredibly by all of her “families”.
Funeral mass and Celebration of her Life will be held in Longlac on November 22nd, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, donations to L’Eglise St Jean de Baptiste in Longlac or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.

Anita Colette Quirion, née Buteau, est décédée le 30 Octobre à l’Horizon Santé Nord à Sudbury. Elle a pu atteindre le bel age de 90 ans. Elle était l'épouse de feu Raymond Quirion; la mère de Michelle (Doug), Roger (Gail), Suzie, André (Sharon), et de Denise, Rhéal, Louise et Céline tous décédés en enfance; la Grandma de Christopher (Wendy) Miron, Matthieu, Andrew et Hilary Quirion, Gavin (Tracey), Bryan (Daniella) et Katelyn (Justin) Barrett; Steven et James (Lindsay) Quirion, Shannon (Mike) Steele et la "honorary Grandma" de Amy, Allison et Kyler Miron. Elle était l'arrière Grandma de Chloe, Marianna et Henry, de Rylan, Grace, Jaylin et Grady. Elle était la soeur de Martha, Claudette et Mariette et de Marcel, Martin et Claude. Elle était la tante de Louis et Lise, de Nicole et Jacques Quirion. Elle considérait ses amis de Longlac comme sa "deuxième famille" et s'impliquait énormement dans les activités de la communauté.
Nous nous souvenerons toujours de l'énorme amour qu'elle avait pour sa famille, de son incomparable joie de vivre et de son magnifique sens d'humour.
Les funérailles pour Anita aura lieu le 22 novembre à Longlac.
