Who passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at Health Sciences North, with loving family at his side.

Beloved husband of Iolanda (Luciani) Contini predeceased November 14th, 2017. Loving father of Nick (Emily Barisas), Gino (Ann), and Luciano (Julie). Much loved Nonno of Andrew, Nicholas, Allison, John, and Peter. Dear son of Nicolo and Laura Contini both predeceased. Dear brother of Iolanda Savelli (husband Ernesto), Ernesto (wife Anita), Giovanna Zufferli (husband Franco). Dear brother in law of Italia Caporale (husband Vincenzo predeceased). Sadly missed by loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Raffaele came to Canada in 1951 and married Iolanda (Luciani) in Sudbury on November 20th, 1954. He worked at Cochrane Dunlop for over 40 years. Raffaele was an avid gardener, whose green thumb produced bountiful vegetables and fruit, especially grapes. In younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was devoted to his family, and he was instrumental in bringing many of his family members to Canada.

The family expresses their appreciation to the staff of the 8th Floor at Health Sciences North, and Pioneer Manor for their excellent care and support.

Funeral Mass in
St. Andrew the Apostle Church
1250 Barrydowne Road, Sudbury
Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 at 11am.
Entombment in the Civic Memorial Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Ontario Lung Association would be appreciated.
There will be no funeral home visitation.
Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
